Suisun Valley Pumpkin Patch
4443 Suisun Valley Rd., Fairfield
Reviewed 10/02/10 by Hauntmistress
As you drive down Suisun Valley Road you can’t miss the signs that point you to the Suisun Valley Pumpkin Patch. Once you make a turn onto a dirt road as the sign says, you drive a short way through grapevines until you come upon the patch, tucked away like a little pumpkin oasis.
This patch is beautiful. Set among the grapevines and away from the road, it feels secluded, and if you come at the right time it’s very quiet and peaceful.
The owners have set up wonderful pumpkin vignettes throughout the patch that make you want to buy up the whole lot and decorate your porch exactly the same way. As it is, you have a lot of pumpkin varieties to choose from at great prices, as well as a U-pick field that you can visit for $5.
In addition to the pumpkins, this patch offers a straw pyramid to climb on, a corn maze and kiddie maze to walk through, and pumpkin bowling to play at the Bumpy Lanes Bowling Alley. Take a mini pumpkin and try to get a strike as you roll it down the lane toward waiting corncobs! There is also a small picnic area with picnic tables made of straw bales.
If you’re just picking up pumpkins, it’s free to get into the patch. It’s $3 if you also want to take advantage of the mazes and games. If you visit on the night of Oct. 16th, you can take a trip through the Night Maze from 6 pm-9 pm.
