Off the beaten path in Dixon you’ll find the Silveyville Pumpkin Farm. This place is more like a Halloween festival than a pumpkin patch.

Good time oldies are blasted on the speakers throughout the grounds and two friendly dogs roam around to greet you. There is a gift boutique in one of the barns full of Halloween and Christmas goodies and a carnival-like snack trailer where you can buy drinks and food.

In another barn an area is set up with tables and chairs for kids to paint their pumpkin. Thankfully this area is out of the sun and cooled by large fans. Kids will also have fun creating large bubbles at the bubble station, exploring the straw pirate ship, having a pow-wow in the teepee, (on weekends) meeting the animals at the petting zoo, taking an ATV train ride, riding hay bale horses, and getting their face painted.

Of course you couldn't call this a pumpkin farm without having a few pumpkins about. There are over a dozen varities available covering every shape, size, and color to choose from for your home. There are also straw bales two for $5, corn stalks $3 or two for $5, and Indian corn for $3.25.

Silveyville is also a Christmas tree farm, so beautiful green trees border the grounds. You can take a relatively long walk through the trees to get to the U-pick patch and petting zoo.
