Perry's Pumpkin Patch

Haunted Bay has always, in the past, visited Perry's Pumpkin Patch at night, after enjoying Ardenwood's Halloween Train.  But this year we arrived while the sun was still peeking though the clouds and were able to see what a nice and pleasant patch this is.  It offers a huge, flat field of pumpkins to choose from that are reasonably priced as well as a selection of large Atlantic Giant pumpkins if you're looking for something more impressive. We weren't that impressed with the quality of their standard pumpkins as quite a few were scarred, damaged, or oddly shaped. Although it does make you appreciate more that good looking gourd you walk out with when you eventually do find what you're looking for. What did impress us was the bins of different varieties of pumpkins, gourds, and squash that were all clearly labeled.  Often at patches you leave not really knowing what you've purchased beyond the fact that you think it's nice!  Here, there is no mistaking what you're taking home.

Perry's offers a large hay pyramid and small hay maze, picnic area, fun and long tractor rides by a very friendly driver, and photo opportunities with wooden cutouts.  One of my favorites was included a ruler that kids can stand in front of and measure how tall they are.  It says, "How Tall Are You This Fall?"  This is an excellent idea for those who make a visit to Perry's an annual tradition. The patch also offers a small craft booth and produce available for purchase.

On the Saturday, in late afternoon, when we visited, the place was filled with families having fun frolicking in the pumpkin field, climbing on the hay pyramid, and eating at the picnic area.

While you're at Ardenwood, visit the other fun activities to do at Ardenwood, such as the Halloween Train and corn maze.
