PaPa's Pumpkin Patch

We’ve driven by PaPa’s Pumpkin Patch in Sebastopol a few times, but always after 6 pm when they are already closed. This weekend we made it in time to this little gem.

The patch takes up the big front yard of a residence and is bordered by big, tall trees, offering a little country feel. The pretty patch offers a few different varieties of pumpkins to choose from. Greeting you when you arrive may be the “guard dog”, a white Labrador named Bella. What she’s really guarding is the ground beneath her, as she mostly likes to just lay in the patch and wait for you to come and pet her. You will inevitably do this because she’s so cute and looks so sweet lying among the beautiful colors of the pumpkin patch.

The young woman who assisted us on our visit cut our pumpkins off the vine with her clippers once we had chosen our favorites – one white and one orange.

We then sampled and bought some delicious apple juice for $5. It comes frozen so you can safely make it home without it starting to ferment if you do not live in or near Sebastopol (we didn’t get home until seven hours after we purchased it and it was still semi-frozen).

When you visit be sure to bring cash, as credit/debit cards are not accepted.
