Located at Little Hills Farm in Petaluma, Scare University is one of the more unique haunts we've been to this season.

At Scare University, a virus has spread like wildfire, making the students murderous!  You first enter a staging room where you are told to wait while they make sure everything is ready for you.  The actor who led us in was so believable, I actually thought we were just supposed to be waiting, but then I realized we were being given time to check out the room. The thought put into this one room is wonderful, including papers on the wall talking about the virus and a calendar/journal entry detailing the writers decent into madness.

When the actor came back for us, he led us to the elevator for our journey into the upper floors of the university.  A video was shown that gave the history of Scare University and the virus. I was very impressed with the quality of the video (Blair Witch has nothing on these kids!). And the little surprise the elevator offers really scared me (I won't ruin it for you!).

From there, we walked through about 11 other rooms that scared and delighted us.  Most of the actors looked about high school age, but they stayed in character and were much more professional than a lot of adult actors in other haunts we've been to.

You can tell a lot of time, energy, and planning went into this haunt, and it really paid off.  After going to so many haunts in one season, they tend to blur in my mind, but Scare University stands out!

When we exited the haunt, a very excited woman was about to go inside for the second time.  She said she had been there last year and was spooked for a couple of days afterwards just thinking about it!

After visiting the haunt, stick around and check out all the great fun at Little Hills Farm.  They have tons of pumpkins and gourds, a craft shop, paintball shooting, an inflatable jumper, farm animals, games, a haunted graveyard, hay maze, hayride, and refreshments! Don't let the "little" in Little Hills fool you. This place offers big fun.
