Larry's Produce Pumpkin Patch

I’ve long been a fan of Larry’s Produce for its wonderful fruits and vegetables at a steal of a price. The same thing can be said of the pumpkin patch they set up in their backfield.

With plenty of room to spare, this patch offers a large selection of standard orange pumpkins for a steal. The large “Jumbo Jacks” sell for only $7, while the medium-sized "Jack ‘o Lanterns” are $5, and the smaller “Cannonballs” are $1.50.

As any good pumpkin connoisseur will tell you, it’s all about the stems. The stems on the pumpkins at Larry’s are thick and long and spooky! The pumpkins sport some of the best stems I’ve seen on pumpkins in awhile. To maintain the stems, Larry’s has a sign reminding people to never pick up a pumpkin by the stem (I cringe when I see people doing that!).

Larry’s also has a good variety of pumpkins outside of the standard orange. Along a wall in the produce stand, adjacent to the pumpkin patch, they have the tiny “We Be Littles” two for $1, Kabocha $1.50, Acorn two for $1, Butternut $1.50, Fairytale $7, Speckled Hound $3.50, Jarradale $3.50, Bananna $4, and Lumina $3.50. Larry’s also has Cornstalks for $3.50, large straw bales for $5, and mini straw bales for $2.50.

On your visit make sure there's time for the kids to run around the large hay pyramid. It has walk-through tunnels and a plastic tube slide. Families can also take a ride around the field in an old-fashioned Stagecoach pulled by two beautiful black horses.

While you're there don't forget your produce. Choose from ripe and inexpensive tomatoes, cantaloupe, corn, nectarines, beans, peppers, peaches, plums, bananas, cabbage, lettuce, onions, mushrooms, kale, watermelon, apples, oranges, strawberries, lemons, and more!
