The Haunted Plaza
Todos Santos Plaza, Willow Pass Rd. and Grant St., Concord
Something spooky has taken over Todos Santos Plaza in Concord, transforming it into The Haunted Plaza!
Located on the Willow Pass Road side of Todos Santos is an inflatable haunted house. Don’t let the “inflatable-ness” fool you into thinking you won't get a proper scare. What it lacks in details it makes up for in enthusiastic actors, and it is great fun.
You are ushered into the haunt with just your party, as opposed to a group of strangers which is always desirable, and walk through dark hallways and rooms that are sparsely decorated, yet interesting. For example, there is a séance room where a ghostly force is trying to communicate with you through a mysteriously moving planchette, and an undulating hallway is crawling with bugs.
There are actors roaming the haunt who are very good at appearing out of thin air to offer a good scare. Pinhead in the haunt’s Hellraiser room was particularly startling, as were the three soul-less faced “dead” girls who cornered us in another room! The actors’ make-up and costumes were spot on.
Some of the proceeds of the haunt benefit the Mount Diablo Unified School District and the actors are kids in the high schools’ drama departments.
So have some fun and give back to the community by visiting this haunt. Don’t forget to grab a free t-shirt for Resident Evil 3D before you leave, courtesy of a partnership with Brenden Theatres.
