I have to admit I wasn't expecting much from this haunt since it is located in a rather run-down mall. But The Chamber of Chills was a pleasant surprise! 

It's a small haunt that seems to be run by teenagers who know how to scream.  I've never heard such horrible, gut-wrenching screams in my life! 

From the moment we entered the haunt I was impressed.  You start out by walking down a dark hall that is lit by a red light shinning through fog - leaving you with the impression that you are walking into a web. The maze continues through a series of well laid out and richly decorated scenes.

There were a lot of interesting, scary props to see along the way and scary creatures popping out at you from below and above.  I really enjoyed the well done misdirections. Props you expected to move were often static while other innocuous items would 'get' you from behind. Especially well-done were the Chucky and Freddie props and a huge spider.  Creepy skeletons also abound.

You can't beat the price at $4. We even caught them on a night they were offering two-for-one admission (other nights you can print a coupon from their website for $1 off).

I hope this haunt does a lot of business so that it comes back to Tanforan next season! Even though it's designed to attract mall shoppers, I suggest you skip the shopping and head directly to this haunt. It's small but well worth the trip.
