Andreotti Family Farm
329 Kelly Ave., Half Moon Bay
Many visitors to Half Moon Bay have discovered that one of the best places to get farm fresh produce is the Andreotti Family Farm (aka A's Family Farm). Located on Kelly Avenue across Highway 1 from downtown Half Moon Bay the Andreotti's have been providing fresh produce since 1926!
Andreotti's sells a wide variety of produce in their charming, weathered barn. What's offered varies with the season but on our visit there was an excellent selection of mushrooms, carrots, eggplant, nuts, herbs tomatoes, squash, potatoes, and well... the list goes on. So much variety in fact that we decided to completely forego our trip to the supermarket this weekend because everything looked so good.
In the barn you'll also find a nice selection of Indian corn, gourds, and some of the largest Munchin pumpkins I've ever seen. But carving pumpkins are what we originally showed up for and Andreotti's had us covered. They have a very pretty hay covered patch adjacent to the barn surrounded by corn and beautiful sunflowers. It even comes complete with a spooky ghost to watch over you. Variety is limited with the pumpkins but the quality is very high and the prices quite reasonable.
Either before or after you pick out your pumpkin you'll want to make your way through their corn maze. No need for map and compass here, it's a short path, which is perfect for those who would like a taste of walking through a corn maze without having to spend half a day trying to get out of some of the Bay Area's mega-mazes.
Whether picking up produce for the dinner table, the perfect Halloween pumpkin, or snacks to enjoy while at Francis Beach (part of Half Moon Bay State Beach located at the end of Kelly Ave.) Andreotti's is a perfect place to stop and spend some time.
