Fall 2001 TV Lineup
is Looking not so Good?

Where as last fall we were treated to many dark series including CBS's Wolf Lake, Fox's X-Files and In Search of..., UPN's Buffy and SU2, this fall season the pickings are much slimmer. In fact only two networks, UPN and the WB, are offering tales of the supernatural and paranormal and only UPN has new shows.


Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The cast of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"Buffy returns for a seventh and seemingly never ending season of saving the world from evil. No further description of the show is really necessary. If you don't know what it's about then you really have to consider moving out of your cave.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer will air 8 p.m. on Tuesdays this Fall.

Haunted is one of UPN's two new dark features this season. Starring Matthew Fox (Party of Five) as Frank Taylor, a private detective, who suffers a near death experience resulting in his ability to communicate with the souls of the departed. With their help, Frank solves cases of murder and intrigue.

Haunted will air 9 p.m. on Tuesdays after Buffy this Fall.

The Twilight Zone

Replacing Special Unit 2 this Fall is the remake of one of TV's most popular series, The Twilight Zone. Hosted by award-winning actor Forest Whitaker, The Twilight Zone comes into the 21st century in UPN's modernized incarnation. Each self-contained episode will feature known actors as ordinary people in beyond-extraordinary situations as they enter the sometimes frightening, often intriguing, but always suspenseful and surprising world of THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

The Twilight Zone will air Wednesdays at 9 p.m.

David Boreanaz from the WB's "Angel"Angel the famously popular spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer returns for another season on the WB and a new timeslot, Sunday at 9 p.m. Angel's mission is the same, to help the unfortunate residents of Los Angeles in an effort to make amends for the centuries of misery he has inflicted on humanity.

Angel moves to Sunday's at 9 p.m. following Charmed. Premieres October 6.

Cast includes: David Boreanaz, Charisma Carpenter, Alexis Denisof, J. August Richards, Amy Acker


Charmed starts season five with a new timeslot, Sunday's at 8 p.m. Charmed is the story of three Halliwell sisters, Piper (Holly Marie Combs), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano), and Paige (Rose McGowan) who discover they have supernatural powers. They are good witches who must overcome petty sisterly grudges to fight evil and keep their powers a secret. 

Charmed will air Sundays at 8 p.m. Premieres September 22.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch

Melissa Joan Hart from "Sabrina the Teenage Witch"Marking it's third year on the WB Sabrina the Teenage Witch returns this Fall as a Junior in college. No longer the confused teenage witch she was when the show started, Sabrina must navigate the trials of being a young woman, torn between love and and her future.

Sabrina will continue in its Friday at 8 p.m. timeslot. Premieres September 20.

Cast includes: Melissa Joan Hart, Caroline Rhea, Beth Broderick, Nick Bakay, Soleil Moon Frye, David Lascher, Elisa Donovan, Trevor Lissauer
