There are only two more weekends in October so you better have your Halloween and Fall fun while you can! In addition to many pumpkin patches and haunted houses to tempt you, here are our top picks for this third weekend in October.
Enjoy the weekend (Friday-Sunday) at the Menlo Park Fall Festival of Arts & Crafts. Shop early for the holidays as you stroll along the sidewalks through many intriguing paintings, photographic works, and unique gifts. Restaurants and stores will also be open during regular business hours to take care of your dining and shopping needs.
The Danville Fall Crafts Festival is now in its 16th year and attracts over 50,000 people every year. Enjoy a "home town" parade (Sat. 10 am), trick or treating, a Scarecrow Alley, a kids activity area, and high quality art and crafts by over 200 artisans. Entertainment will be featured throughout Saturday and Sunday.
The Todos Santos Oktoberfest in Concord offers great food, farmers market, quality crafts, all-age activities, and the live music of Roy Rogers & the Delta Rhythm Kings and others.
On Saturday, the Pardee Home Museum in Oakland is hosting its Halloween at the Mansion. It will feature Brian Scott's magic show in the spooky carriage house.
Calistoga is hosting Calistoga Old Mill Days at the Bale Grist Mill on Saturday and Sunday. Join them for Mill tours, a blacksmith demonstration, apple pressing, rope making, corn husk dolls, spinning, lace making, Dutch Oven cooking demo, and Folk music.
Kids and their families are invited to the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito on Saturday and Sunday for Goblin Jamboree. Come in costume and explore the haunted wonderland complete with games, attractions, live entertainment, and special 20th Anniversary treats. Take a train or pony ride, enroll in the witches’ school, visit the petting zoo, and enjoy a full brew of games, activities, and live entertainment.
Loma Vista Farm in Vallejo will hold its annual Harvest Festival on Saturday. Buy pumpkins and food, make apple cider and cornhusk dolls, and take a train ride!
On Saturday the Safetyville Halloween Haunt in Sacramento features food, games, live music, a stage show, raffle, and costume parade!
For the 21 and over crowd, Rouge in San Francisco is holding an Oktoberfest party on Saturday with a complementary beer garden from Heineken and DJ Andrew B spinning tunes.
Want to be the belle of the ball Halloween night? Then on Saturday visit Costume Rx at Craft Gym in San Francisco. You provide the ingenious idea and a few things from Goodwill, and Craft Gym will show you how to transform it into the perfect Halloween costume. Sewing machines, glue guns, scrap fabric, and basic instruction in alterations will be provided, as well as some trick or treats.
Don't miss the Harris Lass House Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday in Santa Clara. Volunteers decorate this 1865 Victorian mansion and its grounds to provide a scary adventure to young people of all ages. Cookies and hot drinks will be on sale during the event.
On Sunday you'll want to make your way to the Oakland Museum Days of the Dead for hands-on craft activities, demonstrations, music, dance, ceremonia, food, and a mercado.
